It is often overlooked or even forgotten, but if you have an open fire or a wood burner/ multi fuel stove it is essential to carry out regular maintenance of your chimney and its flue system. This will prolong its lifespan and keep you safe. A chimney flue needs to allow the free passage of dangerous combustion gases, and a clean chimney is therefore vital for these gases to evacuate quickly and freely reducing the risk of dangerous and potentially damaging chimney fires. Keeping the flue clean improves the efficiency of your fire and will save you money on fuel, as well as peace of mind that your chimney is working safely. Your household insurance may also be affected if this has not been done by a certified sweep.

Being a Cambridge Chimney Sweep, I provide a comprehensive and thorough chimney sweeping service for domestic and industrial flue systems. Whether your property is historic, thatched, or modern, taking the utmost care inside your home I triple sheet to protect carpets and flooring, using the most effective ways to contain soot and debris in your fireplace or stove. I use an industrial HEPA filter vacuum to prevent any dust getting back into your house. With attention to detail, I aim to leave your property looking better than when I started. As part of the Cambridge chimney sweep service I provide, I clean both domestic and commercial chimneys to remove the build-up of soot and tar using the most effective techniques either manual with a brush and rods or power sweeping. I will select what is right for your chimney to ensure the service is carried out swiftly and to a high standard. Completing my comprehensive service, I also smoke test every chimney after sweeping and carry out inspections. For more in-depth detail I use CCTV to survey the entire inside of the chimney.

I use both manual brush and rods or rotary power sweeping if required. Once your chimney flue system has been cleaned and checked I smoke test and issue an industry approved certificate, which will validate your household insurance. Any issues can be discussed, and I'm happy to quote for any work to be carried out. I do not install stoves or fireplaces, but I have independent unbiased advice and only recommend the best local trades people. ABOUT
I was trained by the Guild Of Master Chimney Sweeps who are the first and currently the only UK trade association that requires it's members to undertake mandatory refresher training every five years.

Once a sweep is complete I issue an industry approved certificate which will validate any household insurance policies that require certification.
